Biography

Clarice Hu (b. 2001, Hong Kong) is an oil painter currently based in Chicago. She is an MFA candidate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and received her BA at Stanford University.

Statement

My work explores themes of non-self, interconnection, impermanence, and the esoteric principle of living nature. I take inspiration from organic processes, patterns, fashion archives, as well as mystical and/or religious iconography to create abstractions rooted in natural phenomena.
